We put the care label here online because we didn’t want to add any plastic polyester labels to the product. Plastics and over packaged is not our thing at all. We want everything about Funkbusters and their packaging to be recyclable and have a minimal impact on the environment.

Your Funkbusters are made from 100% organic, unbleached calico and filled with a mixture of natural minerals and are reusable, compostable and biodegradable. At the end of their life, which is up to a year of deodorising, you can use the contents as a soil conditioner for pot plants, throw it in your garden, add it to your compost or simply dispose of in your household waste. Funkbusters do not contain charcoal. We do not use charcoal, unlike other products, as we believe its production methods are not in keeping with our environmental standards.

Do not wash your Funkbusters or immerse them in water. There is no need to clean them. The minerals inside are naturally and highly moisture absorbent and will be rendered unusable if they become saturated. Of course, absorbing moisture is one of the main functions of Funkbusters and they may become damp in normal use if your footwear is wet when you use them. If they become damp, simply put them on a radiator or in an airing cupboard to dry out and they’ll be ready to bust that funk again when they are dry.

A small amount of very fine powder will naturally come through the calico in use, it is meant to. The very fine mineral powder is antibacterial and changes the environment inside the footwear to kill the bacteria that causes smelly feet. The fine residue is harmless but may cause irritation to the airways if there is a lot of exposure and it is breathed in large amounts.
